Can you have protected condom sex with someone who has genital herpes and not get infected?
Answer
Although condoms do provide some protection against the herpes virus, one may still get herpes even though a condom is used. This is because herpes is transmitted via. skin on skin contact and not through blood or secretions like other stds. Copies of the virus are shed from the skin and can affect the other person through contact with mucous membrane genital areas that arent covered by the condom.
