Some of these answers crack me up LOLbrYou do NOT need a quottelephone linequot to have broadband. You can have DSL broadband without having use of a quottelephonequot line its called a DATA LINE. Where you can have DSL broadband through the land line going into your home. People who no longer find a need for having a home phone get them all the time, through their local phone companies. I have worked in the Telecoms industry for many years both cable and land line, I professionally and personally prefer DSL over cable for a few reason, which I wont get into. I am just trying to give you a correct answer to your question
